Busy, busy . . .time to slow down!

Okay, so we were in the car, or at the church, just about everyday last week. We have a wonderful church that has a fabulous missions conference & where else would you want your kids to be? It is great to see their eyes get excited & treat missionaries as if they were Hollywood celebrities. Anyway we were busy & then we had ballet, school, homework & playdates on top of Missions so what does a Mommy do after a week like that? Why go to the hospital of course=) I got the stomach bug on Friday night that has been taking out households around Bham for a few weeks now - OH no I always have to overdo things. I end up in the ER with MY mommy out of town. After being in the ER for a few hours I think they are going to send me home & tell me to get rest, NOPE I get to stay for 2 nights. Now I know you other mommies are thinking "2 days of bed rest!" It was not fun. They took all my blood & then filled me with fluids. I have IV bruises in my left arm & it hurts so bad I cannot use it very well yet, but who needs 2 arms with 3 children? I am recovering & need to start back to life tomorrow. Right now, Whitty is talking on the phone to the busy signal, Bay is playing upstairs & William is still down for a nap. I am taking it easy & my mom, mother-in-law & JoJo & uncle Steve have been great! Now onto Valentine's Day - I am working on the boys cards for their friends & Bay has finished hers so we are okay on the school front, but to all those out-of-towners I am sorry to say that I will most likely not get a Vday picture/card in the mail. I know that every year y'all wait by your mailboxes as I love to send beautiful pics of my kids, but I believe it is highlyunlikely this year.
Oh well, I am telling myself that it is back to the real world tomorrow. My boys need haircuts & what would Bay be without a ballet class? So much for the days of laying in the bed for 5 hours at a time.
Truly, to the other mommies, when you pray for rest be specific that you not be sick.
His Child, Jocelyn

So Many Things . . .

So many things have happened . . . So many things good things & so many hard things. So many things that we cannot explain & things we saw coming years ago. So many people & so many places. This momma's heart has had to learn to watch them fly & soar. I keep thinking back to what my Daddy said at our wedding " . . . you give your children roots & wings." It is hard to give them roots that run deep & how you instill true values in them. It is also hard to watch them open their wings ready to soar. They are soaring! They are learning SOOO much & watching these adventures is a true gift. I know one day I will look back as this being a great joy of my life. I am experiencing hurt but it is amidst such beauty & growth. My baby girl has started to fly & she is flying strong. As soon as she started off on her journey she hit a few unexpected bumps & she took a minute, re-grouped & then just kept on going. She was strong & brave. S
