The gifts . . .just keep coming!

My children are officially SPOILED! Thank you to each & every one of you who have contributed to their extra fun & sugary Christmas celebration - I am starting thank you notes tonight. We have had an abundance of family time & are loving having SuperDaddy home a little extra these days.
We took a QUICK trip to TN to see my extended family & loved us some chocolate syrup on our biscuits & tackling Uncle Bill on an air mattress. We came home in time to clean the house & prep for Christmas Eve.
No worries - we got a trampoline! AND of course LEgos & ANOTHER American Girl doll b/c 1 was never enough. We got games! We are obsessed with playing games & if you ever want to blackmail me you can find Poppy's picture of me playing TWISTER - hey, I lasted about 30 minutes. We got real aluminum bats - can you believe my boys are old enough to get bats? We got pj's & once more Cousin Lisa wins for the toys with the most pieces.
P.S. Cousin Lisa also brought silly string to a slumber party = FUN!
We have had at least 5 rounds of opening gifts.
We are still enjoying the St.Louis cousins for a few more days. I have the easy job of being in charge of the boys - Mimi is handling the girls.
I will upload pics soon & better hurry to get the kiddos to bed if I can drag them away from Legos.
From this sleepy momma - Happy New Year!

He just made the Men's Soccer Varsity squad for his Senior year & so that makes the 3rd team of this year! He will be joining big sister in Auburn come August & I am sure his dorm room will be a little less complicated. He is half-way through his Senior year & doing well in school. He studies, works, plays soccer & then a little more soccer. He & Whitt are tryi

So Many Things . . .

So many things have happened . . . So many things good things & so many hard things. So many things that we cannot explain & things we saw coming years ago. So many people & so many places. This momma's heart has had to learn to watch them fly & soar. I keep thinking back to what my Daddy said at our wedding " . . . you give your children roots & wings." It is hard to give them roots that run deep & how you instill true values in them. It is also hard to watch them open their wings ready to soar. They are soaring! They are learning SOOO much & watching these adventures is a true gift. I know one day I will look back as this being a great joy of my life. I am experiencing hurt but it is amidst such beauty & growth. My baby girl has started to fly & she is flying strong. As soon as she started off on her journey she hit a few unexpected bumps & she took a minute, re-grouped & then just kept on going. She was strong & brave. S
