" Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, & God our Father, who loved us & gave us eternal comfort & good hope through grace, comfort your hearts & establish them in every good work & word."
2 Thessalonians 2:16 & 17
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
We keep busy around here - everyday!
Bay is 18! She is an adult! She has decided to head to Auburn University next year & spread her beautiful wings. She has had jaw surgery, to correct some "issues," & enjoyed some very extended & quiet time at home. She is a Senior in high school & loves her school! She loves all the fun Senior dress-up days & even had 3 costume changes in 1 day! She has so much stuff planned for next year - my head is spinning.
WFM5 will be 16 in a few weeks! I realized that with him driving himself to soccer practice that I will have an extra 4 hours in my week. He works at a local ice cream shop, which is quite beneficial, & is growing up so fast. He is at the high school with big sister & on most days considers that to be a good thing. He was a soccer champion this past Spring & it was so fun to see him play on the school team that has been his goal for so long. He then went on to make a new club team & travel the Southeast playing in tournaments. What 15 year old boy doesn't love a good road trip with their mom?
Whitty is still our runner! He is 14 & has had quite the growth spurt this year. Periodically reminding mom of his height is a fun past time. He also added high-jumping to his list of accomplishments. We have a fun schedule of 2 track seasons coming up & cannot wait! We have been to dances & he is planning a trip to DC with his grandparents in the Spring. High school starts next Fall & I know he & his friends will have so much fun!
Lee-Lee is 9! He is almost double digits! Our bonus baby is in 3rd grade & is constantly running the neighborhood with his buddies. He enjoys rushing the football fields with the seniors & hanging out with teenage girls. He had a great season with Dad as his soccer coach & practices his "cool goalie moves" daily. He is planning many visits to Auburn next year & continuing to play soccer like his big brother.
Mom & Dad are quite boring- we keep the schedules & the carpools moving & try to stay awake until they get home from their activities. Marty keeps building & serving on boards & I love my work at the church & my pre-school fan club.
It has been another interesting year - a year of growth, uncertainty, goodness, quiet & of course our own version of crazy. I know we will look back on this year & remember the physical changes (more people are taller than their momma), as well as those happening on the inside. But what will we say about this year? What will we remember the most? I don't have a good answer for that . . . I know I will remember the thoughts of what is to come. I will remember watching them grow. I will remember looking at Marty & saying, "Are we really this old?" or "Are we old enough to have a kid that ...?"
May your family find comfort & peace through Jesus Christ. May you know Him more fully. May you experience Him daily.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Love, the Martins
