A Few Days . . .

I may work on this post for a few days (hence, the name) but at this time of the year with kids - there is a lot to process.  New schools, new friends, new teachers, new experiences, new babies, new coaches, new EVERYTHING!
I prayed this Summer for a special teacher & my 3rd child will find out tomorrow that he got that special teacher!  I prayed for confidence as we start MIDDLE SCHOOL & she is ready to go in a few days.
As I registered everyone for school I did not volunteer for quite as many things as I hope to also keep learning how to balance all the plates.
We are waiting on my sister to have another baby & that brings a lot to any momma's heart as you see other people enter that stage - it makes you think about the stages you are in even more.  The stages in their lives happen so FAST!  How do I have one going to 6th grade in a few days??? How is she old enough for a locker & changing classes?  Earrings & lip gloss?  Really?  What happen to smocked dresses & lace socks & keds?
The middle boys only want to wear athletic shorts & shirts - WFM5 said no more monogramming his Sunday shirts? (Well, we will see about that buddy).  The 4th graders in the back seat of my an the other day mentioned GIRLS!  I very nicely explained to them (in my sweetest, strictest Southern Mommy voice) that girls were off limits & then when they could date I had first & final approval.  I then went on to change the subject back to sports - not cool boys!
Well, God gave me a bonus baby a few years ago so we will go & buy some smocked outfits & monogram a few things & buy him some new Keds & teach him that girls have cooties & maybe raise him more Southern than the first 3 =) . . .

Well, it took a few weeks to finish this, but they have started school!
They have been blessed to have Christian teachers who love God & pray.  They have been given friends, new & old.
Littlest Baby started pre-school  3 weeks after the other 3 & he loves being on the 2nd floor.
We have a new cousin that we are in love with - just like all our other cousins.

Oh, we forgot to mention the other new member of our family  . . .

Sniper, our turtle, is the best pet.
He just hangs around & does tricks when asked - perfect.
This is a lot for this momma to take in over  a short amount of time, but I just pray a little extra & get ready for soccer & football & twirling to start.
Prayers for a great year ~ Mommy

Happy New Year 2025!

Well, the end of 2024 caught us a little off-guard. So I am little late . . .  2024 started off with WFM5 turning 18! CRAZY! In the middle of 2024 Bay turned 21! CRAZY! Whitty is 17 & Baby Lee is in middle school! CRAZY! How can they be this old? How can 2 live in another city? How can the hubby be 50??! We had a lot of fun this year, we traveled & tailgated. We laughed & laughed some more.  We also grew this year inside & out, in times of tears & joy. We lost our sweet friend - Kim Haynes, our Auntie Kim. We had moments of telling her daughter that Mommy went to Heaven, we had hard conversations & times to say goodbye.  We had times of telling EK how wonderful her momma was. 2024 also sent another to AUBURN! Momma may have cried the whole way home. But to see him thrive brought Momma such joy.  Baylor (21) is studying education at AU & is having a blast with her cute friends, in her cute house. She stays busy with schools, concerts ...

I am going .. .

In the middle of a boring Super Bowl we put the kiddos in some pjs. So as I was getting the Baby a fresh diaper I told WFM5 to get his clothes off so we could put pjs on him. Now something you may not know about WFM5 is that some nights he sleeps with JUST pjs on. Who knows?? So anyway he took off his underwear & Marty said "Wait buddy leave on your underwear." What is a boy to say to that? "No daddy - I am going blonde tonight." WHAT? He meant "commando" TOO CUTE! ~jocelyn

Let the Games Begin!

Soccer season has started. Tuesday nights will be spent on the sidelines as we watch in awe the greatness of WFM5 running down the field. He thinks he is all that & then some. He also thinks that his friends are all that & then some. He knows they are not going to win every game, but he is okay with that. He knows they will have fun & knows we will cheer him on & tell him his awesomeness win or lose. They lost the first game on Tuesday night, but as he took it in stride. I praised him for his attitude & kept talking about the run down the field with the ball that he had almost right off the bat. The GREEN FIRE DRAGONS are great!
